Upcoming Classes & Events on the South Shore
Our next childbirth class will be on Sunday, September 22nd, 2019 from 11am-5pm at the South Shore Perinatal Wellness Center in Norwell, MA co-taught with Certified Professional Midwife Nicole McKeen. This class is for those birthing in a home or hospital setting.
Learn about the physiological process of childbirth in a manner that empowers you to welcome your baby into the world in the most gentle and loving way. An unmedicated birth enhances natural oxytocin to both mom and baby allowing for better breastfeeding rates, less complications, faster recovery and better bonding.
This class is designed around Lamaze’s 6 Healthy Birth Practices, which are:
– let labor begin on its own
– walk, move around and change positions throughout labor
– bring a support person/team for continuous support
-avoid interventions that are not medically necessary
-avoid giving birth on your back and follow your body’s urge to push
-keep mama and baby together, it’s best for mom, babe and breastfeeding
We also do a fair amount of relaxation and breathing exercises for labor.
We believe that knowledge is power and so many moms and their partners find it easier to maneuver through the birth process if they know what to expect and why things happen, whether it be physiological or hospital procedures. Register here.
Our next Newborn Care Class will be on Sunday, June 2nd from 10am-12:30pm at the South Shore Perinatal Wellness Center in Norwell, MA. This class is for expectant couples. Topics discussed will include:

Belly Wrapping to Baby Wearing Workshop: Stay tuned for the date of our next workshop at Instinctive Parent in Pembroke. You are invited to learn how a woven wrap can help you from pregnancy to toddlerhood with Dr. Amanda from Seaside Chiropractic, Jocelyn from New World Doula Services and Instinctive Parent, and Palestina from Instinctive Parent.
We will discuss supporting your growing belly with a wrap, labor support techniques using a wrap, wrapping a postpartum belly as well as using your wrap to carry your little one close through toddlerhood.
